Seasoned Veterans of interesting careers over the decades have led married partners Judy Zimmer and Harvey Lowenstein into creating Hotdog-Opolis in 2008. A Chicago Style Hot Dog business in Boca Raton that has withstood both a recession and a pandemic. Despite this adversity our pair of accomplished leaders made Hot Dogs happen in Boca! The biggest reason for their success was Harvey and Judy being themselves and connecting with their customers. Add in Vienna Beef Hot Dogs and Polish Sausage and the rest of the great Hotdog-Opolis menu, and you have the winning recipe for continued success.
Recognition from The Boca Tribune’s Best of Boca planted seeds for growth while Judy and Harvey were mesmerized by customers saying, “Thank You”, which is the proof of “good food and good shmooze”. Having the freedom to make a meal or sandwich unique is what they try to do with enthusiasm every day. They are energized by their customers positive response and that so many keep coming back. They have also been involved in doing Hot Dogs at Boca high school games, sponsored a Hotdog-Opolis Little League team, and much more in the community… and they play Sinatra music, too.
It is the culmination of their experience, commitment to customer service, and a quality finished product that has led Vienna Beef to pay homage to and induct Hotdog-Opolis into the Vienna Beef Hot Dog Hall of Fame. This award was created to honor longtime foodservice operators that have developed into neighborhood landmarks. Out of thousands of Vienna Beef customers over the years we have recognized only 155 customers nationwide since the award was created in 2006. From the entire Vienna Beef family, we are proud to welcome Judy Zimmer and Harvey Lowenstein and Hotdog-Opolis as the 156th recipient.
